Creating ambiences that cast a spell, and designs that provide captivating visual narratives, Spacecraft Studio is emerging as a leading name in the field of artistic interior design in New Zealand. Founded by Principal Designer Arnav Taode, the firm not only acts as a Design Consultant, it also provides complete Turnkey Design Solutions.

Arnav’s passion for creating spaces originated with understanding that Art was created to decorate lifestyles. This has allowed him to customise environments that are bold, sophisticated, and that capture the essence of unique personalities. His natural, aesthetically rich style works seamlessly with the individuals he works with.

He has studied Fashion & Lifestyle Accessory Design, specialising in mix media and traditional art forms. Graduating with a Bachelor of Design in 2008, he travelled, imbibed and fused different art forms to create contemporary spaces. Since then Arnav has cultivated relationships with the industry’s most talented artists and artisans and suppliers, all of whom support his creative endeavours.

His distinctive style is characterised by eclectic design sensibilities and ideas are informed by the evolution and interplay between art, decorative-arts and fashion through history. Arnav has worked on a variety of projects be it private residences, hotels, conference rooms, bar and restaurants, outdoor and indoor events and community festivals.

Just as design knows no boundaries, he seamlessly offers services in design and decoration, event decor for both the commercial and private sector.

Spacecraft Studio’s aesthetic cannot be categorised as one specific expression, instead it relies on the classic tenets of luxury and quality combined, with exceptional taste that can only come from experience and a finely honed instinct.

Our Process

Design is Creativity with Strategy

At Spacecraft studio we believe a productive and dynamic space is born via a method of exploration, brainstorming, processing, filtering, and filtering again.

The design process begins with a meeting to take the brief. Where possible, we visit your property in order to get a first-hand impression and assess your requirements in person. We develop ideas in conjunction with you and any other professionals involved in order to present you with a design statement and an initial budget.

The bones of the design depend on a good floor plan, which our skilled design team take great care to draw up detailing the arrangements of furniture, fixtures and fittings. Next, we create mood boards of fabrics and inspirational images to convey the concept. We present these to you in order to further develop the design concept.

Following the approval of the design concept, we progress with detailed specification of the interior architectural elements. These include detailed designs for every room and lighting. With all the interior architecture and floor plans settled, we develop a complete interior scheme, including samples of fabrics, carpets and specialist wall finishes as well as items of furniture, furnishings and accessories. We will also specify bespoke items according to your requirements. At this stage budgets are agreed and fixed.

We project manage the installation making sure that every item arrives on time and is beautifully installed. Our design team personally ensures that finishing touches are in place before presenting you with your new space.
